About Stony Creek Congregational Church (est. 1886)

Our pastor, who led the church for almost 9 years, recently accepted a call to a church in Missouri so he has returned with his wife and young son to be closer to their extended family in St. Louis. Despite the challenges of the last few years due to COVID-19, finds itself in good financial shape, the church has a committed membership with an average weekly attendance of 50 members (of those, approximately 75% attend in person and 25% attend online) on a given Sunday.  the church has just completed an important phase of renovating the church buildings, parsonage and properties

About Stony Creek…

Stony Creek is an outlying community of Branford, Connecticut, consisting of approximately 1,200 residents.  We are located about 20 minutes east of New Haven on the Connecticut shoreline, halfway between New York City and Boston. In this small coastal village, in addition to the church and homes, there is a local post office; library, park/playground, Stony Creek history museum, a small theatre, a fife and drum corps museum and office headquarters, a volunteer fire department, 2 fun family restaurants, recreational walking trails, a private and public dock with slips for small boats, a public beach and 3 different tour boats that take visitors out to view the Thimble Islands.
